I was so blessed to meet the owner Tracey and learn her story of what motivated her to open her clinic and my heart melted into a million pieces (you'll have to go in to find out for yourself) there are remnants of purpose and intention dispersed throughout the clinic. I went in for sleep and energy balance purposes and let me tell you Dr. Michael had the most soulful and kind eyes. I felt heard and compassionately cared for during my acupuncture treatment. The office is beautiful and calming, staff is friendly and knowledgable and it works! I was having new and acute back pain and Caitlin explained the treatments she thought would be appropriate and after some cupping and acupuncture I was feeling much better. I assumed since it was a free visit, it would be a quick in and out 30 minutes, generalized experience….. however it was quite the opposite. Michael was incredibly attentive, explained everything, and truly got to know me and how this session could benefit me the most. I was there for >1hr between the consultation, acupuncture, and cupping. He gave me strategies on how to deal with stress post-session, and talked through what adding acupuncture in my life would look like/do for me. You can definitely sense Michael’s passion for what he does! At the end we discussed Chinese herbal tea and he gave me a complimentary glass….. will definitely be purchasing!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! Thank you Refuge for this experience. I left in tears (positive tears). read less

I went directly to refuge acupuncture and Caitlin with her years of experience suggested cupping and his sha for my first visit. I was so at ease she was just the right amount of communicative to make me comfortable. She even insisted despite her busy schedule to have me back off hours the day I flew out for more cupping and a dose of Moxabustion(my first experience). As a “first timer”, I didn’t know what to expect and also uncertain of what results could be. After discussion, Caitlin decided we’d try cupping and acupuncture. She was great in walking me through everything, educated me and reassuring me.The cupping is a tiny bit uncomfortable but the results are supposed to be worth it and I’m glad I tried it. I did get some dark, round marks on my neck and shoulders (especially areas where I carry stress) and my husband kept making wisecracks about how I looked like I was attacked by an alien.I loved the acupuncture and the 30+ minutes of relaxation and sensations were a very cool experience.I was a little worn out at first but slept like the dead last night, which was awesome. Woke up a little sore but as day has progressed feeling better and better. Lighter. It’s nice! I bought a package and have my next appointment in 2 weeks. Looking forward to seeing how I progress! read less

She always takes me seriously, and gives me a realistic road map of what to expect. She knows her stuff. Caitlin has a great touch with electro-acupuncture, and I have found that it relieves my pain faster than anything I have experienced ( much more rapid than any nsaid!) Cannot wait to get the cosmetic acupuncture started. The office is very clean, peaceful and easy to access. I like that I am able to schedule my appointments without missing work. A++++++. Upon... read moreAfter having received acupuncture before in a very clinical environment, I was eager to try Refuge as it seemed to have a different approach than I had experienced previously. Upon first stepping in the door, you immediately feel a unique energy about the space - one that balances an uplifting, bright interior with a restful, grounding ambiance. I was greeted by Tracey, the founder, who explained a bit about her story and how she was driven to start Refuge based on her husband's healing experience with acupuncture and Eastern practices. It's an incredible story that infuses love and healing into the space, a beautiful complement to the services provided. My practitioner was Michael. I appreciated his calm, thoughtful demeanor throughout the process. He started with cupping and ended with an acupuncture. Though I was initially nervous about having tiny needles throughout my body, he was constantly checking in to make sure that I was always comfortable with the experience. In the end, the process was not painful at all, and it was nice to have a bit of time to myself to relax and calm the mind. After the treatment, I was given a "tea" that tasted SO good. This tea was unique in that the herbs come in a tablet that are dissolved, as opposed to steeped, in water. I found this to be a really effective way to incorporate herbs into a regimen on a daily basis and the taste was something I really enjoyed and would actually look forward to drinking! I look forward to future visits as I continue seeking whole-body wellness. read less
